Born and raised in between Chicago, IL, and Dallas, TX, Trinity Bella Hawkins (c. 2001) is a multidisciplinary writer, curator, and artist. Originally a performance artist, her artistic practice is ever-shifting between academic and creative modes. Her work focuses on the intersection of digital communication, history, media, and personal storytelling. She has written for publications such as D Magazine, where her first ever print piece was an in-depth interview with the grandmother of Juneteenth and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, Opal Lee. Having recently completed her studies at the University of Texas at Austin in May 2024 with a B.A. in English, Trinity was an Original Voices Fellow with NBCUniversal’s Original Voices Fellowship. Her project, IN THE OLD HOUSE (2024), is a digital quilt comprised of her family's archival treasures; she hopes to expand the project in its next phase to sculptures that coincide with the digital portion of the project. Currently, she works in Chicago & writes/runs her blog, titled process control. She loves oysters, cool shoes, gold jewelry, Yves Klein blue, electronic music, traveling, and talking. You can find her somewhere reading a new book and watching an old movie.
